3rd International Conference of Aiki Extensions
Aikido of Tamalpais, Mill Valley, CA
March 23-25, 2001

The 3rd International Conference of Aiki Extensions includes mini-workshops on human growth modalities inspired by aikido, including Leonard Energy Training (George Leonard) and Conscious Embodiment (Wendy Palmer); reports on organized programs to extend aikido into new areas, including higher academic training (Robert Frager) and marine corps training (Richard Heckler); presentations on applications of aikido in police work, psychotherapy, business disputes, education, and interethnic conflict; and collective explorations of ways to use aikido techniques to promote specific insights and human values. The planners of the conference believe that it will promote ways to create harmony in many areas of a world that continues to be beset by unnecessary strife, violence, fragmentation, and environmental destruction.
